Nov. 6, 2010
Our walk outside turned into a leaf toss. We found a carpet of gold and russet leaves on the grass and just couldn't help ourselves. We gathered them into a pile with the intention of of jumping into it but instead Cory grabbed a handful and showered Caleb and Hannah with an Autumn rain.
Speaking of rain... it did. Caleb wanted to be out in so we let him shelter the pumpkins from getting wet.
Here's an Autumn poem for ya...
A Child's Calender (November) by: John Updike
The stripped and shapely
Maple grieves
The ghosts of her
Departed leaves.
The ground is hard,
As hard as stone.
The year is old,
The birds are flown.
And yet the world,
in its distress
Displays a certain
Lovliness--
