Fair Time

Last month we went to the fair and it was awesome. Caleb had such a great time looking at all of the animals. He isn't afraid of animals big or small, which is really cool and scary at the same time. I have to really watch him when we are outside because he will just run up to any dog. But that's another story...

The Fair was cool. Especially since all the noises we imitate "moo", "oink" etc. can actually be heard for real. We took pictures by the cows and as they made their noises Caleb looked at them and then at us like, Hey, I know that sound!

The funny story about the last two pictures is ... As our fair experience came to an end we stopped at the sack slide thingy. Kids off all ages went down the slide with their sacks. Some were brave at first but fear took over and their faces showed terror instead of joy. Or some of the kids , maybe because of their weight, 'flew' up in the air. Some liked it but others found it unexpected and terrifying. Any way the last picture is Alison, Jesus and Cory laughing at the kids. It was all in good fun. By the way Alison has one of the best laughs you've ever heard!

In the end Cory had to try out the slide for himself to see what all the fuss was about. The verdict is, Not so great as an adult. :-(

For Cory's 10 year High School reunion one of the things we did was go to a Highland football game. Now highland's football team has won 3 games since Cory graduated. But while he was attending high school Highland was one of the best teams in Bakersfield. !0 years later Highland is actually winning games again. This night Highland played Garces (the school my sister attends). We hung out with my family and Caleb ran and played, far too excited to be held for longer than it took to take these pictures. By the way, Highland beat Garces! Go Scots.

A few of my favorite things

I had (I use the word "had" because well..) a little box of M&M's next to my bed just as a little "secret" treat. Well Caleb found them on morning and ate a few. After the initial discovery he was constantly sneaking into our bedroom and partaking. One morning I found him surrounded by the delicious M&M's and his mouth already wet with the melted red and blue candy coating. He was in Heaven.
His other favorite thing is to sit in the bathroom sink, naked or in a diaper, and play with the running water and the toothbrushes. He has actually stayed in the sink for 30 minutes! And even though he was in there for half an hour and had a five minute warning he still cried when I pulled him out.

The Big Cut

I decided I need a change. You know something drastic! I went to my Uncle Timm and asked him to cut off all my hair, Caleb was a witness. I have to admit I did feel a little bit of anxiety just before the scissors began snipping. But I am really happy with the results (as you can see above).
