Basketball night

June 20, 2008

After the Crawford's left and Cory got home from work we went to our church building and hung out for a night of fun. Cory and Caleb moved the basketball nets down, and warmed up together with some stretching. The two of them ran around the cultural hall together and when Cory shot some hoops Caleb played with as many Nursery toys as he could pull out of the closet. It wouldn't have been a better night.

Hurray, it's the Crawfords

June 20, 2008

Donny and Michelle called us a few days ago and said they were going through Bakersfield and wanted to stop by. I was so excited to see Michelle and her son Aaron (Donny too of course). We met at Cory's work and then drove to Connie's for lunch and a talking. It was so awesome. We met Donny and Michelle at BYUH and we quickly became best friends. I love Michelle. She makes we want to be a better person just because I know her.

A night time swim

June 19, 2008

Tonight we went over to Grandma's and went swimming. It was wonderful to be cool on such a hot day. Caleb loves being in the pool and even more he loves being in the pool with his Daddy.

26 weeks pregnant

I am 26 weeks pregnant and feeling a little big but ok. The pool is one of my favorite places to be, but I think quickly it will become my absolute favorite place to be.

Washing the bikes

June 17, 2008

This afternoon Alison and I took the boys over to Grandma's, went swimming and then let the boys play a little longer under the shade with their bikes. Patrick is such a cute little boy and Caleb simply adores his cousin. I am so glad that Alison and I are having girls together. I hope that they are as good of friends as Patrick and Caleb.

Caleb's first love

June 17th, 2008

For about a week straight Caleb wants to watch the Little Mermaid every day. "Ariel" is the first and last word he says every day. And whenever Ariel is on the screen he smiles and walks up to the T.V., puts his hands on the screen and leaves them there until we ask him to back away or Ariel's scene is over.

All things Pink

June 16, 2008

Today I had the second appointment to see if the baby would reveal it's gender and she did, right away. It's official... We are having a little girl! I was excited and surprised. And then I thought, "What will life be like with a girl?" I felt sure that Cory and I were having another boy and I felt very comfortable with the idea. I was having twin boy dreams, and that even seemed great. But one thing that seems to ring true about dreams and feelings (for me) is that it is always the opposite. So instead of 2 babies, were having 1, and instead of a boy were having a girl.

Happy Father's Day

June 15, 2008

We spent the evening at my parents to celebrate Father's Day. We had a delicious dinner and fun watching Nono and Cory open their gifts. Hillari got Dad space saving camping dinnerware. It fits in a small flat box and then the 3 pieces fold into a cup, a plate and a bowl. It was really cool and a big hit.

And the Beat goes on..

Caleb, Patrick, Gracie and Lucie continue to show their moves out on the dance floor. I think these three are really into break dancing.

The Blue Swim Goggles

Caleb doesn't like to wear hats too much or sunglasses but for some reason these blue swim goggles rubbed him the right way. He wore them for while and wanted to do everything while wearing them. He finally took them off, I think, because his little eyeballs were sweating underneath them.

The 80's are Back

June 14, 2008

I heard the 80's were back as far as decorating and fashion but tonight it was literal. We went to the Neville's house for their annual summer bash and had such a good time. Caleb did a little rock climbing and dancing, (the Flock of Seaguls guy really seemed to play all the right stuff for Caleb, because he really "felt it").

A Day Off

June 13, 2008

Cory took the day off! We had breakfast at Mimi's with his Parents and the Moreno's and Aunt Patti (Connie's sister who was visiting from Utah). It was delicious. We ate like kings. Afterward we went to Grandma and Papa's house to enjoy the pool. After showers and naps we met up with Aunt Wendy (Jerry's sister) and had dinner with all the fam at Macaroni Grill. I don't know about you but I can't remember the last time I ate out 2 times in one day. We were surely spoiled. Cory and I were still so excited about Wicked we talked about it as much as possible even if it was just to our selves.

I forgot to bring a spoon so Cory improvised with a knife. It was a little scary but Caleb seemed happy to be eating.

Cory is so good with "two." He loves being a Dad and an Uncle to Patrick. By the way Patrick is a silly kid. He put a napkin on his head and left it there. I don't know what he was thinking but it sure made everyone laugh.

Happy Anniversary

June 12, 2008

Today is our 6th wedding anniversary! To celebrate we went to the Pantages theater to watch Wicked. Before we left we went to Costco to get gas, check the tire pressure and also eat pizza. It was great. Wicked was amazing. Cory absolutely loved it. And I thought it was even better the 2nd time. I hope we do go back. The drive down to LA was my favorite part. I loved being alone with Cory, just talking and laughing. It feels like such a sacred thing to have a few moments, let alone 2 hours to just be by ourselves.

Short but Sweet

June 6 - 8, 2008

This weekend we went down to Ventura to spend the weekend with my parents for a much needed vacation. Saturday morning Nono took Cory and Caleb to the beach at low tide to look for shells and to check out the tide pools. Noni (Caleb calls her NiNi - sounds like "Knee knee") Hillari and I went to the Farmer's Market to buy strawberries and other such delicious goodies. HIllari bought some jalapeno/cheese bread, fresh honey and flowers, Noni bought 3 tamales, kettle corn, strawberries and lavender, I bought 3 baskets of strawberries to put on top of a lemon cheesecake we were going to have on Sunday. The rest of Saturday was really casual. Cory, Caleb and I went for a walk and soaked up the cool weather and sunshine. On Sunday morning mom made scones, scrambled eggs and cut up some fruit. I thought the colors of breakfast looked striking next to the deep purple of the lavender so I just had to get a pic. After church we met for a BBQ lunch back at the condo, cleaned up the place and headed back to reality. It was a short trip but sweet.

To the Park

May 29, 2008

Cory met us at the park after work today, just to mix things up a bit. Caleb was very excited to play with his Daddy. We spent most of our time at the park looking at the water fountain. Caleb quickly pointed out the "night-night" bird floating face down in the water. He was very concerned. Daddy did his best to distract him, even pretended to thrown Caleb in a few times but somehow Caleb found the bird and reminded us that it is "night-night."

Daddy's Guitar

May 28, 2008

This afternoon Caleb REALLY wanted to play Daddy's guitar, so I said, "ok, but only with Mommy in the room." I just wanted to make sure he didn't get popped in the face with a string. Not only were all the strings left in tact Caleb had a great time strumming the guitar and singing. His big number was "E.I.E.I.O."
