Red, White and Blue

July 5, 2009

Even though it's the day after the 4th, we took Patriotic pictures at Grandma's and then a few shots of the girl's.

Fireworks and More

July 4, 2009

Tonight we went to our first (and hopefully not last) Fred Thomas' 4th of July extravaganza. It was a wonderful party. First Caleb wanted to ride the tractor and then he wanted to ride it again and again. He got off to let one of the other kids on and then was on again.

After the tractor drove off into the setting sun the kids were invited up participate in a parade. Caleb wanted his Daddy to be in the parade too. The rest of us watched but none more enthusiastically as Hannah.

Waiting for the fireworks show to begin.
Do you see the soles of Caleb's shoes? That's because he's jumping as high as his little legs could get him off the ground. He jumped for the entire firework show.

While Caleb slept...

July 3, 2009

While Caleb slept Cory and I got to spend a little one on one time with Hannah. She is such a joy to be around. She is the happiest baby I've ever seen and everywhere we go people stop and talk to us (well mostly her) and then move on with a little smile on their face. I always say, "If you're having a bad day, just hold a baby." Cory took Hannah outside on Grandma and Papa's patio to play his guitar which has sadly been neglected. While Caleb was still very young Cory and I would take him outside and Cory's guitar and play all the songs he knew or until Caleb fell asleep. To this day Caleb loves music. His whole life has been intermingled with it and we hope to do the same for Hannah. Although it might be more through cd's than actual "private" concerts.

Swimming

June 30, 2009
We went to Grandma's for a cool dip in her pool. Before we got in Connie and I made the boys stare at the pool for 30 minutes and then we opened the gate... just kidding.

Hannah did some cute poising for me while her sunscreen dried. Can you see the ruffles on her booty? So cute!
Hannah was so happy. She loves to be held.
Caleb easing his way into the pool.
Patrick found the swimming goggles and wanted to wear them the whole time while in the pool. That kid is a character.

Icecream

June 30, 2009

After swimming we ate ice cream on the grass. Hannah literally sucked the push-pop dry. Afterward I took Caleb's swim diaper off and let him be free. I think he loves "naked time."

The funnest games are at Grandma's

June 26, 2008

Whenever I went to my Grandma Red's house I was always bored. Her house was not equipped to entertain kids. Sure she had an organ and that was fun to plunk away on for a while, but then what? Well, such is not the case at Grandma Connie's house. She has the best toys. They are so fun Alison even had to try one out too.

Father's Day at Grandma's

June 7th 2009

We went to Grandma's for a Father's day picnic. She made yummy fajitas and fresh salsa. Caleb loves her salsa. He'll eat about a 1/2 cup of it with chips.
Grandma is growing a tomato and herb garden this summer. Caleb loves to help her pick the tomato's but he likes to water the plants best of all. Here Connie is picking the fruits of her labors.

Ben and Jane say goodbye

May 26, 2009

Ben and Janae had to go home today. Before they did Janae and Sara made cupcakes and Ben and cory played Pac Man or something like that on the computer. Grandma got the boys balloons, just because, and they sat down together with them just long enough to take that picture. Those boys truly love each other.

More Swimming

May 25th 2009

Caleb loves Grandma's pool! And to think they almost didn't put it in when they built the house.
When pools were being built (back then) jumping rocks were "in." You can see Caleb taking advantage of Grandma and Papa's here in the picture. He has no fear of anything. And to be honest I feel inclined to encourage it. I love his carefree spirit. Have you ever seen anyone so happy?
The next picture is a candid moment I caught of Alison and Elena. So sweet.

A good time out (and in)

May 23, 2009

Ben and Janae came to Bakersfield this weekend. We all met at Woody's for a yummy lunch. Before we were seated Ben and Cory played a video game (coins provided by Connie) until our name was called. To me, Ben looks like he's having fun while Cory looks like, "this is business."

After lunch we came home and went swimming. Did you know that Caleb is deathly afraid of the water.? He won't go anywhere near it let alone go IN it. Oh wait. Actually he's part fish.

Hannah was sort of eating pieces of bread. I think she just liked breaking them up into fragment sized morsels and then sucking them into submission.

New year's Rez.

So okay... this IS a silly picture but I needed one with just me. After I scrolled through my downloaded photos and found none, I took this one of myself for this post.
I bet you'll never guess what one of my new year's resolution's is...

Caught Reading

May 22, 2009

I couldn't find Cory and Caleb at Grandma's house this afternoon. I searched in all the usual places but to no avail, they were missing. Then I heard a laugh from inside the "red bedroom" as Caleb calls it, and there they were...Caught reading.
