Sunshine... inside

May 18, 2009

Hannah and Elena wore yellow today and the boys wore clothes of course just not in this picture. They are so sweet and wonderful and bring so much joy and sunshine into our lives.

Mother's Day

May 10, 2009

The first picture is actually from the day before. Connie and Sara took this picture and I think Hannah looks so sweet, although the beads did make me think "Mardi Gras," oh well.
Mother's day was really nice. The weather was perfect and church was wonderful. Connie wanted to take a picture with all the grandkids (I don't know why I didn't think of doing the same thing Caleb and Hannah). They were all really good.
After pictures, we drove over to Connie's and had a feast. The best part was the strawberry shortcake that Sara made. Caleb and Patrick sat together in a chair and enjoyed the dessert. Caleb ate a little slower than Patrick which in his mind meant that Caleb wasn't that interested in the cake. Patrick attempted to, several times, eat off of Caleb's plate and "help" him finish it. In this picture you can see Patrick eyeballing Caleb's plate waiting for just the right moment to try again.

Disneyland P.M.

May 7, 2009

After lunch we just happened to be at the right place and the right time because we saw Mickey and Minnie, Aladin and Jasmine and Buzz Lightyear. Both Caleb and Patrick met Buzz and got to talk to him. Afterward Patrick was so happy he gave Caleb a kiss but wouldn't let Caleb kiss him back, more than twice... Caleb tried. We then found another train and rode on that all over the park. Both Cory and I tried to get Caleb to get off the bench and walk around or look at other things but he stayed vigilant on the bench. At the end of the day we met Mickey afterall and Caleb and Hannah only took their eyes off of him long enough to take a picture. I love Disneyland.

Disneyland A.M.

May 7, 2009

First thing we did was eat breakfast and then back to the rooms to pack our things. The girls enjoyed the hotel life - lounging on the bed, being pampered and waited on hand and foot...oh wait that's every day. We rode the carousel, teacups (well, I didn't. I would have actually thrown up unlike Cory's pretend nausea), and then the storybook ride (BORING). Then Caleb and Cory rode the Casey Jr. train the rest of the morning. No seriously. They rode it until lunch time again and again.

The night before Disneyland

May 6, 2009

Normally we drive up the day we go to Disneyland then spend the night and drive home the next day but this year we decided to drive up the day before, get a good rest then get to the park when it opens instead of noon (like last year) and it worked out so much better. We stayed at a hotel within walking distance of the park and a heated pool. The pool was so warm the boys were in there for 2 hours and said it was more like a bath than a pool. Both Jesus and Cory spent most of the two hours throwing the boys up in the air or catching them in the pool when they jumped to them from the edge.
Before the pool and pizza Caleb made sure the phones were working and ordered room service and extra pillows.

An evening at the park

April 20, 2009

Connie invited all of us to the Solera park by our house for push up pops and 50/50 bars. We laid out a blanket and enjoyed the wonderful Spring weather. Elena and Hannah stayed on the blanket sharing toys while Caleb and Patrick sat quietly and reverently in a chair for an hour. Just kidding.

Decorating Eggs

Apr. 11, 2009

You'll never guess what these chicks are made out of...Chocolate! They were too cute to eat so no one ever did. They stayed on the glass table or on Connie's kitchen counter adding to the Easter ambiance. Caleb and Patrick decorated eggs tonight and had the best time. Those boys are so sweet together.

PETA

April 3, 2009

Cory found an injured bird at his parents house this afternoon and decided to help it out by putting it in one of Connie's old shoe boxes. The only thing he forgot was food. So the bird died anyway. It's the thought that counts so don't call PETA.

Caleb's 3rd Birthday

Mar. 27, 2009

Caleb turned 3 today at 8:01 am. We had a little party for him over at the Randall house. My Dad was the BBQ man and managed to cook the best hamburgers and hotdogs ever made. My sister Hillari captured a few moments with her polaroid camera and Cola's kept us laughing.

Later on...

Mr. 26, continued...

After Amanda and her kids, left Caleb went outside with Grandma and helped her pull some weeds. He also found a new perspective on things... the upside down perspective.

The Cake

Mar. 26, 2009

Amanda Pitts came over this morning around 11 and showed me how to make a Bob the builder cake for Caleb's birthday tomorrow. I made 3 round cakes but the first one broke so the cake was only 2 layers instead of 3. But Caleb and I didn't mind and we didn't let any of it go to waste either.

Popping

Mar. 21, 2009

Grandma taught Caleb how to pop bubble wrap this morning. Caleb did his best to pop it using his thumb but it was tedious work. Grandma then showed Caleb the punching technique which was more fun. But the one that seemed to be the most fun was the jumping up and down technique. Caleb laughed every time the bubble wrap popped beneath his feet. Which technique did Caleb enjoy the most? You guessed it... the first one. Oh, that's not what you guessed? Caleb is like Cory he finds a lot of satisfaction in tedious and meticulous work. For example, Cory loves to pick up a sweater that is covered in little tiny fuzzy balls and pick off every single one of them. After he picks them off he puts them into a neat triangular pile and then throws them away, completely satisfied that he has made that sweater fuzzy ball-less.
Hannah's name could be JOY because this is the face she wears 90% of the time.

Then there were 3

Mar. 11, 2009

This morning Caleb took his bike for a ride around the block and then decided the perfect spot to park his bike was not in the back yard in it's usual spot but next to Papa's bikes. Ahhh. A man and his bike, it's a beautiful thing.

Did I mention?

Mar. 7, 2009

Did I mention Caleb loves trains? Well he does. Whenever we go to Grandma's house he says a quick, "hello," and then heads straight to the train set (which is always set up in the Grandma's music room) before she can respond. He can play with these trains for an hour. And then when it's time to go he asks her if he can bring one or two of the trains home. Grandma always says ,"yes."

Another evening together

Feb. 8, 2009

Alison and I switched slings for about 2 minutes. We quickly realized that the slings were definitely a "custom" fit. Elena and Hannah like to play together. Mostly they try to poke each other in the face and eyes. The boys on the other hand enjoy wrestling and watching movies instead.
